Seafood Export Package
The UK Government has announced a?£1 million package?to boost seafood exports and promote the industry’s high-quality produce overseas. The package will target growing overseas markets and provide new export opportunities for the UK fishing industry and seafood sector following our departure from the European Union.
UK Government Minister for Scotland Malcolm Offord said:?
"Scottish seafood is an unrivalled product in terms of quality and reputation and we are determined to see more of the bounty of our pristine waters going from British ports to plates around the world. This money will amplify the message that Scottish fishing and aquaculture are open for global business."

UK Capital Allowance Regime Reform
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has called on businesses of all sizes to?have their say, after his Spring Statement pledged to look at how to sustainably cut and reform business taxes ahead of the Autumn Budget.
A?publication?sets out how firms can work with the government on capital allowances to help foster a new culture of enterprise and growth in the UK, with responses requested by 1 July 2022.

Spring Showcase Promotes Best Of British Business?
The UK Prime Minister has hosted a?spring showcase?at Downing Street to fly the flag for British food and consumer goods and showcase small independent businesses who are exporting their goods internationally.
Scottish stallholders included IGS Vertical Farming (Edinburgh) and Island Bakery Organics (Isle of Mull).
£2 Billion For Submarine Programme
Defence contracts worth more than £2 billion have been awarded to BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce to begin the third major phase of the future?submarine nuclear deterrent programme?– Dreadnought.
UK Government Minister for Scotland Iain Stewart said:?
"The Dreadnought programme will continue to see our nuclear deterrent and expertise based at HM Naval Base Clyde. UK defence procurement spend is worth almost £2 billion a year to Scotland and the prosperity generated by the employment this creates is helping us level up across the UK."
