Businesses to benefit from new talent and up-to-date skills thanks to funded training
Greater Manchester Combined Authority
Working together to make Greater Manchester greener, fairer and more prosperous.
Change in industries like construction, manufacturing and green mean that ways of working need to adapt to suit demand and an evolving landscape.
With Greater Manchester’s economy growing at pace, it can be difficult for employers to justify the time to release staff for training to meet this change and vacancies need filling with experienced candidates quickly.
Yet it’s important that workforces and residents have access to the vast skills and work opportunities available in order to plug gaps businesses are experiencing, increase productivity and retain talent.
Greater Manchester has a way to help. Skills Bootcamps are being delivered flexibly across the city-region providing access to up-to-date techniques and tools to help people work more effectively, saving businesses time and money while giving them the opportunity to boost productivity and staff retention.
Do your bit and get involved with Skills Bootcamps in two ways:
-????????? Release your workforce for on-the-job training, delivered in a way suited to your business’ needs
-????????? Offer guaranteed interviews to those who complete a bootcamp, giving you access to a diverse talent pool of local people
Accessing training
Skills Bootcamps are short, sharp courses co-designed by employers across a range of industries to specifically plug the skills gaps that businesses are experiencing in the city-region. They are tailored to business need and are delivered flexibly with the employer and employee in mind.
Some courses covering the construction industry deliver learning in stages, meaning that employees can return to work to apply their knowledge before returning to the bootcamp a few weeks later to complete higher levels.
Others offer delivery in as short as five weeks, with employees having the option of full time learning or ad hoc days depending on the course.
