Politicians get away with it for a while.
Until we vote them out.
As do companies paying lip service to their promises and not following through.?Until they go out of business.
Yet clients and friends will not put up with it, and neither do you.
I had offered to introduce my friend to a business associate.
But I sunk into my biss-e-ness.
He reached out to me again for an introduction.
I agreed to make the connection for him.
But I?needed to?follow through. And I didn't.
This morning, minutes before one of my business coaching clients arrived on Zoom, he texted me.?"Have you contacted them?"
I texted him an excuse, and he told me?never mind.
I realized I had screwed up.
I made a promise and did not keep that promise.
After the coaching session with my client, I contacted the person he wanted to meet.?
Yet, no excuses exist for failing to live up to my promise.
Everyone screws up.
Yet when we screw up, we need to clean up our messes, or others will lose trust in us.
No trust. No business.
Have trust. Get Business.
