BUSINESS vs IMPACT
It's time for us, the people to start makin some changes
Lets change the way we eat
Lets change the way we live
And lets change the way we treat each other
You see the old way wasnt workin so its on us
To do what we gotta do to survive
Over my short post-graduate years. I have thought about doing work that matters beyond the paycheck but I still want to live a certain type of lifestyle. One which is more challenging in the Malawian context (very possible just more challenging). Maybe this is a case of sacrifices and opportunity cost and should be a no-brainer but for me, it currently isn’t that easy.

As of late I came across, a moral case of thinking about the thousands of people who are going without food, and yet there are hundreds of people aiming at selling Maize for vast amounts of profits. Some of the people work for organizations that are built on the foundation to feed the hungry in Malawi.
It’s a jungle out here and lions don’t eat vegetables
To confess, I have mentally joined the bandwagon but have not yet acted on it.
My current rationale is, that I actually care about people, and in the long run, I will use the money to make a difference but as for now, my white-hat attitude won’t make a necessary difference.

In the past, I have either left such environments or talked myself into damaging confrontations. In learning from the past I am now thinking that maybe sometimes the best way is to first be a part of it before eventually overcoming the culture.
