Business As Usual

Business As Usual

Two weeks ago, the conversation I was having with businesses centered around strategic advice for the future - the conversation shouldn't change because of the election results.

Nobody knows what the Trump Administration will actually do. Speculation is all we have at this point, and those opinions are based upon campaign promises. For what's worth, I do believe there will be changes, but I uncertain to what capacity.

However, I can list several items that are for certain: The Affordable Care Act is still the law and tax forms to employees are due January 31st, 2017. The FLSA overtime rule changes are still in play for December 1st, 2016, and the Obama Administration is still in office.

It's important to realize the amount of tax-dollars that have been poured into the ACA, and the IRS hasn't recouped what they projected in fines ($8 billion in revenue for the 2015 tax year). Additionally, the Department of Labor's overtime rule is still on track, and the Obama Administration will veto any attempt to overturn it before it goes into effect.

Lastly, the main purpose of this post is to state the importance of aligning your business with a vendor partner who can easily adjust to whatever happens in 2017 and beyond. Therefore, I'm confident in the services Proliant offers, and the ability change direction, if necessary.
