Keeping informed from trusted sources is important for both your health as well as your finances, especially in a rapidly changing situation. In the face of unprecedented market volatility, we're working hard to continue providing our clients with excellent services, advice and solutions. Please take a look at the research and insights from our Chief Investment Office or subscribe for regular updates. And above all, talk to your adviser. You're not alone.
Keeping informed from trusted sources is important for both your health as well as your finances.
I understand that it's a difficult situation for many people across the globe right now. And in addition to supporting our clients through these uncertain times, I strongly believe that we all have a role to play in being part of the solution in our local communities. At UBS, one way we effect change is through our UBS Optimus Foundation, an organization that works with local partners to protect the world's most vulnerable and contain the virus from spreading further. Part of this is a COVID-19 emergency response program that matches client and employee donations.
We all have a role to play in being part of the solution.
Another way we effect change is by contributing to additional local programs. For example, in our home market Switzerland, we – together with other banks – are supporting emergency measures announced by the Swiss Federal Council to support small and medium size firms through a bridging loan assistance program. As part of this, we've agreed to waive potential profit margins from the interest on these loans and instead contribute profits to a fund established to support projects that will benefit our local Swiss communities. Through this initiative, and on top of other social projects that we already support worldwide, we've committed to providing an additional 30 million dollars towards Swiss and global COVID aid projects.
I wish you, your families and your friends health and resilience in these challenging times.
