The transformation of a large organization from "box selling" to digital services is one of the most complex tasks in corporate management. Especially if this company has a decades-long history of successfully producing and selling physical products.
And perhaps this change can become imperative due to competitive pressure from the market, which in the long term, could mean the survival or not of the company.
In my career I have been through two situations of this type with different results. What I could see is that the biggest difficulty is not technological or administrative. In general, in this context, financial resources are not limiting.
The biggest challenge is to change the mentality of leaders and followers to prioritize changes and processes whose results will not be perceived in the short or medium term.
The scenario becomes even more critical when the need for cultural change in the organization is ratified. And against this drive for change competes the present and real fact of growing sales and distributed bonuses.
But as Darwin said... “It’s not the strongest of the species, nor the most intelligent, that survive; it’s the one most responsive to change and adapt quickly.
