Business Transformation
Just had a tremendous week at DVSAnalytics. We held a series of strategy sessions with our individual teams, members, and an all-hands general meeting. These sessions enabled us to identify and solve problems, while discovering new ideas and approaches to our business transformation.
Aligning multiple teams throughout a company around new strategic decisions is hard work. Having a clear approach and setting the stage before these sessions is extremely important in building a successful outcome.
Running a Strategy Session
I came across a great set of definitions that helped us guide the structure around our meetings on the Uhuru Network. Peter Lang’s article broke the session down into focused sections for us:
· Start with the aspiration
· Where will you compete?
· How will you be the best?
· What are your capabilities, and what else is needed to succeed on this path?
· What are the systems and metrics that empower your capabilities?
These buckets provided us with a starting point for our sessions, allowing us to ultimately construct a schedule that balanced work, individual sessions and company-wide meetings into a highly productive week. The end results are already paying benefits as our teams have begun shifting to align with our on-going business transformation here at DVSAnalytics.
