We caught up with Justin to see what he had to say about his team:
Q: What are the team responsibilities?
A: The Employee Benefits Account Executive’s main role is to develop, maintain, and execute complex relationship strategies to ensure overall service needs are satisfied, and to educate employees about their benefit options encouraging enrollment and use of their benefits.?
Q: What are the top tasks the team works on?
A: Broker and employer outreach is our main priority and ensuring enrollment success. Account executives internally manage and partner with each operational area (underwriting, actuarial, marketing) to help employers consider other benefits that could help their employees, as well as proactively addressing potential servicing issues.?
Q: What is the biggest challenge brokers and employers face and how does the team help overcome them?
A: Employee benefits can feel overwhelming. While employees want options, it can be difficult for an employee to understand the benefits that would provide the greatest value—if they aren’t fully educated on those options. Transamerica has a variety of simple educational materials employers’ benefit from to help show the value of a product.
Q:? ?In two sentences, how would you summarize your team’s main contribution to customer success at Transamerica??
A: Finding ways to help employees understand products and increase their participation to better protect their finances, as well as engaging employees in the enrollment process through various strategies. Determining the root cause for issues and being proactive from a service perspective so issues can be prevented before they happen.?

Q:? How do you think Transamerica is uniquely positioned in the Employee Benefits market???
A:?Accessibility is a huge asset when dealing with Employee Benefits. We pride ourselves not only on making our products accessible on hundreds of third-party platforms – over 160 to be exact – but we try to always be visible to employees by supporting both virtually and in-person at benefit fairs. These fairs and group meetings give us the opportunity to get to know employees and speak face-to-face about their unique situation and find ways that we can help them protect what matters most.?
Q:?What is your favorite part of the job? Or is there a particular part of the job that you think makes the most impact?
A:?Working with employers from all over the country, east coast to west coast. I encounter so many unique personalities that I have the pleasure of speaking with weekly, and I really enjoy not only working with them but getting to know them on a personal level.?
Q: How long have you been working at Transamerica and what is one reason why you like working there?
A: I have been working at Transamerica for 10 and a half years with four of those years leading the account executives. I like working at Transamerica because of the people.?We have some of the best people employed at Transamerica that I have had the privilege of becoming friends with that will certainly last a lifetime.
Q: One of Transamerica’s core values is creating a positive community impact. Do you have any examples of that from your personal life?
A: I volunteer in my community as the President of the Maumelle Sports Association (MSA). The MSA organizes and manages recreational league baseball in the fall and spring for kids ages 3 to 15 years old. I also coach for my son, Jace’s, 11-year-old?baseball team which I have had the privilege of coaching for the last five years. I truly enjoy helping young kids develop life skills through sports, whether that is my son or another member of the community.
