Business Tips From The Gridiron - FOCUS ON THE POINT
When the Hall of Famer, Steve Largent was asked to explain his unique ability to make magical game-breaking receptions, he replied, "most people are taught to keep their eye on the ball. I always thought that was too vague...I concentrate on the POINT of the ball." More and more we hear peak performers talk about the importance of narrowing one's focus. "Aim small and miss small," they say. In today's mega-competitive world staying focused is key. Of course, its equally important to stay focused on the RIGHT thing. Perhaps we can take our coaching to the next level by helping others identify key focal points. Wouldn't you agree that merely reminding someone to "STAY FOCUSED" has its limitations? Steve Largent was able to define a specific target, fixate his talents, adopt a sharper mindset, and achieve a winning edge. Every time the ball was in the air, Steve gave himself the best chance to win.
How can you apply this concept in your business? Where can you fine tune your focus? Can you apply this concept to multiple areas of your business? Zig Ziglar used to ask, "Are you a wandering generality or a meaningful specific?"
