Business Spotlight: Laser Stream Media

Mike Parsons founded Laser Stream Media in August of 2006 as a production studio dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services. An entrepreneur at heart, Mike’s career experience is as diverse as it is unique. Prior to owning a production studio, he was the director of E-commerce for the largest car dealership owner in the country. Farther back, his eclectic background includes working for the FBI and a decade-long career as a magician. This varied experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of communicating with C-suite executives, achieving content and performance objectives, and producing video content with professional finesse. Mike's journey exemplifies how a diverse skill set can uniquely position an entrepreneur for success in the dynamic field of video production.

?

Originally, Mike launched Laser Stream Media with a focus on website ancillary products, helping customers with cutting-edge technology that was, at that point, only offered by three other companies globally. This technology allowed for the creation of interactive animations with persona elements that seemed to "walk out" onto the screen. Despite his lack of formal training in computer/website design, Mike's entrepreneurial spirit led him to self-educate extensively in video and website production after reaching a professional crossroads. As technology shifts from industry giants like Apple and Adobe impacted Laser Stream Media’s product, Laser Stream Media pivoted to serving more corporate clients by providing video content for internal communications, B2B marketing, and live-streaming events and meetings.

?Since 2014, Mike has been operating his Marietta studio. With its equipped 22’ W x 12’ H green screen, 476 sq ft broadcast quality studio space set with LED video wall, suitable for talkshow-style, training and virtual meeting projects. In addition to comprehensive pre- and post-production capabilities, Laser Stream Media adeptly fulfills a broad spectrum of video requests. Mike has prioritized minimizing surrounding noise, a strategy he views as a competitive edge in video production. Despite numerous studios in Atlanta, many grapple with external noise impairing video quality, often resulting in external noise or internal reverb and sound reflection issues. To counter this, Mike has installed sound panels and doubled up walls for enhanced sound insulation.

Clients can choose to rent Laser Stream Media’s green screen and sound stage facilities for their own production team or utilize Laser Stream’s full suite of production services. Their production capabilities cover commercials, corporate communications videos, and other video projects. The studio also boasts a roster of talented actors available to clients, offering unparalleled quality at competitive prices. This unique value proposition attracts clients from as far as New York City, where similar services can be prohibitively expensive. Notably, Laser Stream Media also offers on-site production, capturing video at corporate offices, conferences, and trade shows to produce corporate comms or event recap videos, showcasing the company's versatility in service offerings.

Video production is an exceedingly competitive field, further intensified by the incorporation of video production into high school and college curriculums. Mike believes that Laser Stream Media attracts customers for one of three reasons: superior quality, competitive pricing, or exceptional professionalism. Given the democratization of video production, a surge of individuals has recently entered the field. Although this increase in competition poses challenges, Mike is confident that Laser Stream Media’s years of experience maintains competitive advantages: offering a product of high quality at a reasonable price, delivered on time.

Looking forward, artificial intelligence stands as an exciting opportunity in video production capabilities, but also as an intimidating disruptor. On one hand, AI-driven tools can automate repetitive tasks, and provide real-time feedback for accurate decision making leading to increased efficiency. On the other hand, AI also poses significant challenges to the industry. It has the potential to disrupt traditional workflows, replace certain jobs, and reshape the skillsets required of video professionals.

One area that Mike expects AI to have a significant impact is post-production. Post-production is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process that involves editing, color grading, visual effects (VFX), and audio mixing. AI can automate many of these tasks, freeing up video editors and other professionals to focus on more creative aspects of the work.

?

Laser Stream Media has come a long way since its inception in 2006, and Mike Parsons has led the company through many changes and challenges. With its focus on high-quality video production, competitive pricing, and exceptional professionalism, Laser Stream Media is well-positioned for continued success in the years to come.?
