Business Relationship Maturity

In this session I want to talk about relationship maturity. You've also heard of emotional resiliency. Years ago when I was a lot younger and had fewer gray hairs, the smallest things would kind of really upset me and a mentor asked me, "When you get upset, does that hurt the other person or does that hurt you?" What I want you to really think about, especially when it comes to your relationships, none of them are going to be perfect. None of them are going to be smooth waters. They're going to go through what I call Tailwind, which is great, right? It moves the relationship forward. Headwind and Turbulence. Whenever these frictions happen, whenever these confrontations or collisions happen, I want you to really think about how do I remain calm? How do I remain collected? How do I make sure my emotions don't get the best of me because I think we've all been there. When emotions are infused, we do irrational things. We send really nasty emails, we say something that we're going to regret later and that's very difficult to take back. So emotional resiliency and relationship maturity is going to come from you thinking before you speak, before you act, before you say something or do something you're going to regret. NourGroup.com
