I've been coding, building and releasing The Cyber Boardroom for the past 12 months - a GenAI platform focused on scaling cybersecurity communications between security teams and business leaders.

What started as an interesting idea to improve how CISOs communicate with boards has evolved into a clear business opportunity.

Here's why I'm looking for investment to take it to the next level.

The Why

As a longtime CISO who's sat in countless board meetings, I kept seeing the same problem: a massive communication gap between technical security teams and non-technical board members - and this challenge grows exponentially with scale.

I built The Cyber Boardroom to bridge that gap and deliver personalised communications at scale

The platform uses GenAI to translate complex cybersecurity knowledge into terms boards can understand and act on. It's about making cybersecurity a business priority that's understood at the highest level.

How does it work? The platform acts as an intelligent translator and coach.

For board members, it provides security briefings tailored to their industry and role - highlighting cyber threats and compliance issues in plain business language.

For CISOs, it helps translate their messages and prepares them for board presentations by simulating tough questions boards might ask. When security experts and business leaders speak the same language, companies make better decisions

The Open Source Strategy

I decided to build The Cyber Boardroom in the open from day one. If you know me, this isn't just about putting code on GitHub - it's a core part of the technical strategy. I believe in the power of open source to drive innovation and trust.

This open approach has been incredibly valuable. I've been able to roll out continuous prototypes rapidly, test with real users, and iterate based on direct feedback. It's also allowed me to offer a free Community Edition, which I believe is crucial for driving adoption and building trust in the AI capabilities.

Technical Innovation: AI Personas and News Feeds

One of the most powerful features I've built is the ability to create multiple AI personas that simulate real boardroom stakeholders. You will even be able soon to a mock board meeting with an AI CFO and CEO asking questions, while an AI Cyber Advisor (I call her Athena) provides expert guidance. It's like a "cybersecurity flight simulator" for board meetings.

I've also developed a personalised cybersecurity news feed system. Using GenAI and some clever prompt engineering, it filters the daily flood of security news into actionable insights based on your role and industry. A board member in finance gets different insights than a CISO in retail, all explained in the right context.

The Investment Case

I'm seeking ￡250K seed investment for 20% equity, structured as five angel investments of ￡50K each. This values the company at ￡1.25M pre-money. (see the complete business plan here)

Why this amount? It's enough to accelerate development and go-to-market while keeping the business lean and focused. The funds will primarily go toward improving the AI capabilities, expanding the knowledge graph, and building out the commercial features needed to scale.

What's Next

I've proven the core technology works - the AI personas, personalised news feeds, and open-source LLM integrations are all live and being used. The next phase is about scaling up both the technology and the impact.
