PFAS RELATED CORPORATE NEWS FROM SEC FILINGS DURING THE LAST WEEK
Grove Collaborative Holdings Inc. reports that continuing their commitment to safe and sustainable products all PFAS ingredients have been eliminated. They note product safety sheets are available on their website. The company has also been involved with efforts on the federal and state levels to ban PFAS chemicals.
Hartford Financial Services Inc. states for general liability loss development patterns have been impacted by emergence of new types of claims many related to PFAS. Also as a result of the 2023 fourth quarter review, the company increased environmental reserves before NICO reinsurance partly because of increased liability estimates for PFAS exposures.
Republic Services Inc. reports that increased regulatory activity related to PFAS main result in increased costs for the company due to capital expenditures related to vehicle fleets, landfills, environmental remediation efforts and other associated activities. Potential limitations or bans on disposal on certain types of PFAS could also cause additional expense.
