?? Meet the Remarkable Rachael from Sunarch Pool Care ??
Allow me to introduce Rachael, the heart of Sunarch Pool Care, the Mornington Peninsula's go-to experts for healthy water and pool care. Over the past six years, Rachael and her dedicated family team have transformed Sunarch into a trusted name, servicing residential, school and aged care pools with unwavering commitment and a personal touch.
At Sunarch Pool Care, Rachael, her husband Michael, their two sons, Sunny and Archer (the inspiration behind the company's name), and a team of dedicated technicians, offer more than just pool services. They provide peace of mind. "We treat every pool as if it were our own", Rachael explains, "and we always follow up to ensure our clients are satisfied". This ethos has garnered them a reputation for reliability and excellence. Their unique approach includes a report after each service, so clients know exactly what has been done, even if they're not at home.
One story that highlights their dedication involves a client who recently lost her husband - the primary pool caretaker. Overwhelmed and unsure how to manage, she turned to Sunarch. "We stepped in and took care of everything", Rachael recalls. "Our promise is to make the customer's experience hassle-free, especially in difficult times". This compassionate approach is what sets Sunarch apart.
For many, knowing what pool equipment to purchase can be confusing, the Sunarch team only recommend and supply reputable equipment, mostly Australian made. And they proudly hold themselves accountable for doing the right thing by clients – “our technicians are not on commission and are not encouraged to suggest anything the client doesn’t really need, we’re not that type of company”.
Rachael’s journey to pool care management is both inspiring and rooted in her values. Growing up on a dairy and beef farm, she learned the importance of responsibility and persistence. "On the farm, when things go wrong, you have to sort it out", she says. "I bring that same troubleshooting mindset to Sunarch". Her early experiences taught her to be flexible and loyal, traits that have become her superpowers in managing operations.
Rachael’s passion for community involvement shines through her role as the treasurer of the Langwarrin Football Club and her years of service to local teams and groups. This commitment to community stems from her childhood in a small, tight-knit town, where helping others was a way of life.
After school, Rachael's path took an unexpected turn into the fashion industry in Melbourne, where she quickly rose through the ranks from an entry-level ‘despatch’ role to operations manager. "I was so 'country girl,' but they loved that about me", she laughs. Her adaptability and work ethic impressed her mentors, who entrusted her with increasing responsibilities.

In her early 20s, Rachael’s parents transitioned from the farm to running the local country pub, which in an Australian country town is often the centre point of community. Rachael returned home to help and played a hands’ on, ‘doing a bit of everything’ role.?
Rachael eventually joined Sunarch as a bookkeeper, but as the business grew, so did her role. Now, as the operations manager, she handles scheduling, finances, staffing, and overall management, ensuring the smooth operation of the family business. "Working with family can be challenging, but we respect each other's roles and maintain a good dynamic", Rachael notes. She laughs that her family have to “treat her like the boss when they are at work, which is sometimes challenging when your boss is your Mum”.
One of the ongoing challenges for Sunarch is the lack of a formal apprenticeship program in the pool care industry. Training new technicians on the job requires careful management to maintain their high service standards. Despite these challenges, Rachael and Michael are committed to growing their team and business while upholding their core values of trust and quality service.
Looking ahead, Rachael and Michael hope to gradually step back from day-to-day operations, entrusting the business to their sons or their dedicated team. "We want to see Sunarch continue its legacy of excellent service for many years to come", Rachael says with pride. This is common for business owners that have built a business they are proud of, they want to see it continue. Time will tell what succession eventuates at Sunarch, but for a while yet, Rachael and Michael remain committed to their team and their clients.
If you're seeking a pool care team that goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Sunarch Pool Care. Reach out to Rachael and the team at www.sunarch.com.au or [email protected]. Experience the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pool is in the best hands.
