We are living in interesting times. There is probably nobody out there whose personal and business life has not been impacted at least to some degree by the current pandemic.
All of our clients are reporting that their business is down and they are looking for ways to get back into the game. As tough as it looks this is a good time to spend time with your family and reassure them that we are all in this together.
But beyond family, you need to stay laser-focused now because the COVID-19 situation around you is causing changes in your daily routines - every day. Obviously we all hope the situation will be brought under control, but even if it were to go away tomorrow, it has already had a significant impact on the economy, psychology, business and innovation.
There are a lot of business sectors that will be affected short-term that need to seize the opportunity to future-proof your business for times like this. If your business is affected, this is the time to look at your business and change or kill what is not working.
The pandemic offers a huge opportunity not just for manufacturers of hand sanitizers or face masks. This is the opportunity for brave entrepreneurs to future proof their existing business.
We see
- Restaurant businesses to become online food businesses;
- Gyms and fitness businesses offering online or virtual exercise classes;
- Conferences are turning into virtual conferences thanks to the tools that are available to us;
- Uber’s business model is built on disrupting transportation; turns out it is built on providing instant access to food and good that are out of reach. Many taxi companies are seizing the opportunity to copy that because their drivers are currently out of business;
- Online education is replacing schools and universities that were relying on classrooms only.
The list goes on.
In the short-term, businesses are being forced to behave in extraordinary ways and expedite their decision-making to keep their business alive.
We will be making a guide available with business model innovations from various industries and sectors that companies came with to combat the crisis.
Just leave a comment here and we will send you a copy.
