Business Models are Never Cast in Stone

Business Models are Never Cast in Stone

The ability to innovate and adapt is essential for business success. Businesses had to be more creative and adaptable to survive when the pandemic shocked the world. Therefore, embracing an agile attitude is essential for organizations to succeed in today's quickly evolving economy.

Listen to Kristian Thorbjornsen discuss his thoughts and observations after reading "8 Paradoxes of Leadership Agility" in Episode 10 of Agile Leaders Conversation. As an SME owner severely affected by the pandemic in 2020, Kristian shared how Paradox 8 - Principled vs. Adaptable helped him quickly change his perspective. Instead of being stuck in old business models, he set up quick experiments to examine new revenue streams and his business model as the landscape changed as a result of COVID-19.

It is safe to conclude that Kristian's business might have been jeopardized if he had remained closed-minded. However, they are still thriving today because he opened his mind, welcomed changes, and created ideas to adapt rather than just rejecting ideas and advances that were coming their way like he used to.?

He shared in this episode not only how the paradox resonated with him but also how it impacted him and changed his behavior and mindset first-hand.

Sometimes all it takes to realize the potential in the ideas that come your way is to attempt to be a little more open-minded and try.

Kristian concluded by saying he doesn't think there is a "one size fits all" solution. You will need to expand your intellect in some way because of how quickly a business, the workforce, and society are evolving. Since nothing in today's world is certain, changes and innovation might indeed be frightening. However, like Kristian, try to be open-minded by taking that leap of faith.
