The Business Mentality Series 2

If success, riches, and wealth were about the best ideas on earth, almost everyone including you would be wealthy and rich. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The best ideas are the first step out of 100 steps to success! There is a mystery of the other 99 steps.

Three years ago, I was thinking about how to start a niche on social entrepreneurship, and after a few nights, thought of an idea to start a social network that brings all political leaders on board -at a fee of course. I called on my best friend "Patrick Mwangi" for brainstorming. And yes, the idea was great. 

Every subscriber was to have their bio, career and political or leadership ambitions. In case there were rumors about them, they can have a public video or statement on the same platform instead of calling for a conference briefing on TV.

Kenyans were to have a chance to engage with leaders in that platform and get their questions answered. Wasn't that mind blowing? How easy would it be to connect with them on one platform? Maybe have a debate with their counterparts on the same platform?

The challenge was how to start and get a developer who would do that for us. But Over the years, we did very little and almost forgot about the pregnancy and that a child was to be born.

Yesterday, I got on twitter to see what was trending and I came across a hashtag dabbed #MyAspirantMyLeader . The hashtag was promoting an app or platform of a similar kind! It was a shock of a lifetime, regret and self-blame of things I never did. A reflection of failure!

Wait a moment, I thought about it and realized that 9 out of 10 of the ideas you have, someone had already or is thinking about them. Try thinking of a unique idea and type in on google, a million results will pop up, and that should tell you to try harder, think, act and move fast. 

Do not just sit there thinking everyone is sitting with you. Some are in the finishing line. Do that and you could be on TED show or featured in Forbes as the next world's billionaire.
