Business, Meet Energy

Business, Meet Energy

Today I’m sharing a very big announcement!

After four years of operating under the banner of Cultured Innovations, I am changing my business name to The Business Healer.

For the last four years, Cultured Innovations has been a platform for my business coaching, grant writing, and fundraising consulting. I am beyond grateful to the stellar group of clients, peers, partners, team members, and collaborators who joined me, and for what we’ve accomplished together. Thank you for being part of it.?

Why the name change? What does it mean?

If you follow my work, you’ve probably noticed that transformation is a thread throughout nearly everything I do.?

The process of transformation has stages. Change is natural, and it’s cyclical.?

As I often tell clients, you are usually in one stage or another—the caterpillar, the chrysalis, or the butterfly—but because, like the universe, you are expansive, eventually you will be called through the stage you’re in, to the next one.

The chrysalis is destined to become a butterfly. And becoming a butterfly requires time and energy. It unfolds organically, through a quiet, internal process, hidden from public view.?

I’m concluding a Chrysalis period of my own. Significant business growth over the past two years has indeed been internally and externally expansive, bringing new realizations and greater clarity about my life purpose and the best professional pathways through which to fulfill it.

The name change of my business formalizes this transformation. It builds on all that has come before, and marks me spreading my wings.

What is “business healing” anyway?

People often talk in concrete terms about the world of business. This is the “seen world” of revenues, KPIs, deliverables. Metrics, measurables, outcomes. Productivity. ROI.

But what about the less-concrete aspects of life as a professional, but which are very real and formatively shape your career? This is the “unseen world” of thoughts, feelings, memories, wounds. Disappointments, fears, regrets, traumas. Unworthiness, shame, guilt, anger. Impostor syndrome.?

We retain these experiences on an energetic, quantum level that isn’t visible to the eye. Yet the fingerprints of these invisible, internal influences endure. Everyone has them. And everyone brings them to work, whether consciously or not.?

And that means what happens at work, is profoundly shaped by the collision of everyone’s unseen inner stuff.?

When that unseen inner stuff isn’t attended to, understood, processed, and resolved individually, it remains in full-force, invisible but present.?

A lot of harm happens at work. Bad bosses, gaslighting, toxicity, burnout. And I believe it’s specifically because of this.

Business healing is what happens when a leader…

  1. Begins to recognize that in addition to the concrete world of their work, there are invisible layers operating silently in the background.
  2. Accepts that these forces directly affect their own overall and long-range capability, performance, and success.
  3. Commits to devote conscious attention and resources to resolving what they have been carrying around individually.
  4. Notices how, as their own inner landscape shifts, it impacts those around them.
  5. Seeks to expand this impact beyond themselves, by reshaping the workplace more purposefully or by “paying it forward” in other ways.
  6. Notices the impact of these shifts on their own earning potential—and on those they work with.
  7. Experiences more joy, success, and fulfillment at work.

Business healing isn’t about going full-on woo.?

It is simply a method that recognizes that there are additional layers to career or business success, fulfillment, and satisfaction, previously, widely undiscovered or undiscussed, and that are now available to anyone open to giving them a spin.

Business healing is about boosting your success and satisfaction at work, working with the unseen forces that haven’t typically been a part of the business conversation.

How do I know business healing works?

Because it worked for me. I’ve always loved business, and for the past 12 years as a consultant, coach, executive, and small business owner, I’ve deeply enjoyed creating and teaching others to create healthy businesses.?

I began meditating and practicing energy work 25 years ago. As I was building my career, I set aside an active practice, but always turned to it when I felt uncertain, and experienced outstanding results. So, four years ago, when I went full-time with my business—the most uncertain time in my life—I decided I would proactively experiment with incorporating energy work alongside standard business practices to see what happened.?

I found that using energy helped me become a better person and business owner. I’ve used energy to address the areas of myself that needed healing and growth, and to help me create tangible business outcomes and success. Energy was my tool to take on my fears, heal limiting beliefs, release inner wounds and obstacles, reset my mindset, grow, and generate financial success. My business outcomes quickly outpaced my wildest dreams, with revenue more than doubling last year. Which meant I got to keep expanding those dreams, and it has been awesome!?

Recently, I realized that my favorite work was applying and teaching others to use energy as a tool to enhance business success. In short, this is my zone of genius. And that’s why I’m leaning into it.

So, welcome to The Business Healer. I’m thrilled you’re here.?

What questions do you have about the intersection of energy and business?
