Business leaders, it's time to support American democracy
An open letter from 100+ CEOs, founders, and executives about the 2020 U.S. election.
Voting is not only our cherished right, but our sacred duty. Unfortunately, voting in America is too difficult and the pandemic has only made voting more challenging.
Businesses have the ability to make it easier for citizens to vote. Whether you employ five Americans or 50,000, every business leader can support our democracy by providing employees paid time off to vote and information about registration and voting deadlines.
If you are a business leader, please have your company join the Civic Alliance, a non-partisan coalition committed to helping businesses encourage their employees’ civic participation by:
- Supporting employees to register to vote
- Providing employees with time off to vote
- Encouraging employees to serve as poll workers
Joining is fast and free, and gives you access to non-partisan resources to help your teams fulfill their civic duty.
There are only four weeks left until the election. Let’s ensure that every voice is heard and every vote is counted. Please act fast and join us today.

4 年Great start. National Day of Democracy? Here's a sobering evidence-based data point. The DNC/RNC - 2-Party System - duopoly is overlooked. However, in a true free-market spirit, devoid of corporatocracy, "Citizens United", corporate personhood and crony-capitalism; which corporations will stand against such anti-constitutional tom foolery? 2-Party System Tyranny https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-party_system Herein lies the central tension of the two–party doctrine. It identifies?popular sovereignty?with choice, and then limits choice to one party or the other. If there is any truth to Schattschneider's analogy between elections and markets, America's faith in the two–party system begs the following question: Why do voters accept as the ultimate in political freedom a binary option they would surely protest as consumers? ... This is the tyranny of the two–party system, the construct that persuades?United States?citizens?to accept two–party contests as a?condition?of electoral democracy. —?Lisa Jane Disch, 2002
Let's do this. Every voice should be heard.
