Business interruption Insurance
When the first lockdown occurred in March 2020, many small businesses turned to their insurance policies to see if their losses would be covered by business interruption insurance. Most insurance companies rebuffed their approach. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) disagreed and brought a sample of policies before the court. The Supreme Court agreed with the FCA in the majority of the cases brought and have instructed insurance companies to pay up. It might be worth dusting down those policies (even if you have already had a claim rejected) and lodging a claim against your insurers.
