We want to know about your innovation and research and development activity. Your responses are important and will help us monitor our impact, shape our activity, and secure future funding to continue our work.

About the Growing Kent & Medway annual Business Innovation Survey
All the information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and all responses will be anonymised before publication. Please answer for the last 12 month period, or the nearest financial year for your business.
You can use the results from last years' survey to benchmark your own innovation and R&D activity.

Turning Food Waste into Fertiliser
In September, we announced funding of £200,000 to six local businesses, aimed at promoting sustainability in the food and drink sector. With the projects now underway, we caught up with Richard Small, founder of Inspro, to hear how he is using the funding.
Inspro is trialling using black soldier fly larvae as a sustainable way to turn food waste into natural fertilisers for leafy green vegetables. The larvae can also be used as livestock feed.?

Streamlined data for indoor farming
Rubisko is another recipient of our Business Sustainability Challenge grant. Their project aims to streamline data infrastructure and optimise resource allocation for indoor farms, potentially improving resource use efficiency, minimising waste, and reducing the sector's environmental impact.
