Business Hole vs Business Goal

THERE'S A HOLE in my bucket dear Liza dear Liza, a hole.

I heard this song recently where Henry went full circle ..... that is he should have had the end goal in mind. It reminded me of the many business owners I meet who are working hard in their business and yet resources seem to dribble away. Whilst they search for a way to fix it, they are constantly running out of time or money!

In all the time that it takes to mend the hole in the bucket (for 'the bucket' read 'your business') you will be losing profits, or productivity, or customers through the hole or worse still, creating even more holes.

So how do you tackle the way holes are handled in your business? How quickly are they mended? Or are you working harder in your business and not identifying where the holes are that could save you lots of time, money and energy?

To work with the end in mind ..... It is worthwhile every quarter for business owners to review their business and to start a plan for the next quarter. Also review the financial accounts and look for at least two cost saving ideas and two revenue generation ideas. 

During the review business owners must ask themselves - What is most important? Which will have a good impact on my business? and Which can be done with simplicity? 

If you're thinking "I don't have a plan"...... then,

These 4 ideas can become the quarterly goals for the plan. 

So fix the holes with your business goals!
