Tap into Safety has recently made a small cash donation to assist local business Pell Sports (ladies bowling sports apparel manufacturer) in their efforts to manufacture clothing for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Child 'shoe box' project. We were so intrigued with the idea and their efforts we just had to help and we are calling on other businesses and individuals to chip in too.
Pauline, the Director and main seamstress in the company, is really creative in how she is recycling and manufacturing 1800 dresses for small children in the poorest of countries to fill a container for next Christmas. What she does is transform discarded netball skirts into the most delightful wash and wear dresses that the girls love so much that they 'refuse to take them off, even to wash them!' See an example of the successful campaign that is now in its 21st year at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-Enq5iN8iU
The netball skirts have been donated to the Samaritan's by numerous businesses in Perth . What Pell Sports needs is the fabric and trim for the remainder of the dress. They are donating their time, cotton, electricity etc. to transform 1800 netball skirts into dresses ready for next year's delivery in time for Christmas.
Pauline explained that she "can get 4 'tops' out of 1 metre of material. A metre of material is around $8, so any small donation can really go a long way".
Please contact Pell Sports on 08 9245 2446 if you can help.
This is a great example of the true giving spirit of Christmas for children really in need!

8 年There are lots of worthy causes vying for your help and attention, some only getting cents in the dollar from what you've donated. We made a modest contribution after looking at the You Tube videos and knowing that every cent we gave was all going to be used towards the material required to put together these gifts.
