Business Fours Golf Events teeing off across the country

Scotland's national business golf tournament returns this spring with five qualifying events across the country.

Golf lovers from companies around Scotland can take part in the second ever Business Fours golf event. The tournament is now open for entries and caters for all levels of golfing abilities.

Run by Business Fives - the popular five-a-side football tournament for soccer-loving businesses - and in partnership with insider.co.uk, Business Fours tees off in Glasgow at the stunning championship course 17th April. It then proceeds up to Dundee to Monifieth Links before further golf days in Edinburgh, the Borders and Aberdeen. The tournament provides the opportunity for golf-loving businesspeople to play and network in a relaxed environment.

The tournament provides the opportunity to meet new connections in a relaxed environment with companies having the choice of teams of 4 being split up for their round and, like Business Fives, there is a strong charity element to the tournament with 10% of all revenue going into a charity pot. The destination of this donation will be decided by the winning company at the national final will takes place on the Torrance course at the Fairmont in St Andrews.

Last year's winner was Glasgow-based Village Hotels Group after they triumphed at the Glasgow professionals qualifier.

The industries represented will be the professional services sectors in Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, a construction, housing and property sector heat and an energy sector heat in Aberdeen.

Tournament founder John McClarey - who is also behind Business Fives - said he hoped to build on the success of last year's inaugural tournament. He said: "We are really looking forward to teeing off the new season of Business Fours and we're hoping to replicate the energy and enthusiasm from last year's events that created a real buzz in the room.

The format was embraced by all the companies who took part and the feedback was really positive with most of last year’s participants already back involved, something which proves the formula works"
