Business Fives returns for its second winter season

Champions RBS will be hoping to defend their title winter season title as Business Fives hosts the second indoor winter season.

This winter the events will be continuing the model which gives companies a platform to build on their current CSR activities with the winning company once again deciding the destination of Business Fives 10% donation. The Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity benefited from the summer season receiving ￡3,120 on behalf of champions A.C. Whyte and Co.

Business Fives events are constantly improving and this winter will be no different with the introduction of an icebreaker game before the tournaments kick off allowing like-minded professionals to get to know each other in a relaxed informal setting and encouraging attendees to build relationships throughout the events.

The summer season had 98 companies taking part across various industry sectors. This winter there will be Construction, Housing & Property heats and Professional Services in both Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as a Food, Drink & Hospitality heat in Edinburgh. Hoping to build on the success of the Edinburgh and Glasgow events Business Fives continues its geographic expansion into Dundee and Aberdeen.

The success of the events in the Central Belt largely been down to the partnerships forged with industry partners and the local chamber of commerce. Their support has been more than just marketing with tournament founder John McClarey being a big fan and advocate of the power in engaging with local Chamber of Commerce.

Similar partnerships with the Dundee and Angus and the Aberdeen and Grampian chambers are in the pipeline as part of the geographical expansion which brings new opportunities for companies in the North to get involved.
