We are happy to announce that we have named Chun Schiros, Ph.D., SVP, Head of Enterprise Data Science Group at Regions Bank as June's Thought Leader of the Month.

As the head of the enterprise data science group, Chun is responsible for the development and execution of a data science/AI roadmap and strategies to drive competitive advantage for the enterprise’s business and operation through the use of data and advanced analytics. Chun currently leads a group of multiple data science teams focusing on building large-scale AI solutions using machine learning/AI/statistical techniques.

Chun appeared in the Business of Data Podcast talking to Catherine about the future of Data Science (Listen now) Most recently, however, she was featured in our just-released report, which you can find out more about below.

Only 8% of Enterprises Have Fully Integrated Analytics and AI Processes into the Cloud

Despite the clear and ongoing mandate for businesses to become data-driven to fuel growth and competitive advantage, our latest study with global professional services firm Genpact reveals that only 8% of respondents are far enough along in their journeys to be viewed as “analytics innovators”.

What's more, most respondents are far from reaching this ideal state. In fact, 51% are “data beginners” or “partial adopters” – stuck in the earliest stages of data and analytics integration.

“What many businesses overlook is the need to oversee a cultural, not just a technological, shift when building a data-driven enterprise. The study reinforces that to truly integrate data and analytics, business and IT strategies must be intrinsically linked. And, as the gap continues to widen between the innovators and the beginners, there’s no time to spare to forge this connection.”
Amaresh Tripathy, Global Analytics Leader, Genpact
