The Business of Business

The Business of Business

If you're the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer in your business, it's unlikely you're also strategically leading the way to success as a powerful CEO!

Delivering on product, putting out fires, and keeping plates spinning will never lead to rapid revenue/profit increase, scalability, or real entrepreneurial freedom.

To be honest, every business owner reaches this point on the road to fulfilling their vision.

Every entrepreneur I've ever known who has grown past the initial 6 figure mark, has to grapple with stepping out of being their company's worker-bee into a bigger version of themselves.

It's uncomfortable.

After all, you started the business because you are really good at the thing your business does. (At least in theory ;))

The business of BUSINESS isn't what drives you.

And that's normal!

In fact, most business owners know very little about business when they start.

And truthfully, it's not a problem until all of the sudden everything you've done to reach that first metric of success, doesn't work to dislodge you when you get firmly stuck at a plateau.

It's at this point that the real rubber meets the road.

Moving past this place requires admitting you don't know and being willing to do things differently.

Like giving up some of the things that make you feel accomplished and trading them for things you're not good at.

Like taking your head out of the sand and diving into the 'what's so' about your numbers.

Like delegating, hiring and leading a team.

Like fine-tuning your systems, processes and being strategic instead of reactive.

Like looking in the mirror and untangling your internal operating system.

Yes, deeply uncomfortable.

But if you have the courage, the determination, the fortitude to dig in, the results are bigger than any you have ever imagined.

Results like doubling or tripling your revenue.

But even better, results like being more satisfied than ever.

Having a greater impact with less force and effort.

And that ever elusive freedom we all chase and crave.

What impact would you make if your business gave you the resources?
