Business Continuity at Actuarial Partners Consulting

Business Continuity at Actuarial Partners Consulting

17 March 2020

The situation surrounding coronavirus has been very fluid but we want to reassure you that APC is doing all we can to ensure our client services are not disrupted. Following the latest advice from the Malaysian Government on a movement control order until 31st March 2020, we have put in place a number of measures at APC to ensure that we have business continuity throughout this period.

Continuity of Work

All of our 30+ consultants and analysts have laptops and are able to work remotely. Staff will work from home and can be contacted by mobile phone and email in the usual way. We already receive most of our client and member communication electronically and will continue to do so. We have invested in our IT systems and work in a largely paperless manner already. Our consultants and analysts can access all necessary documentation and systems remotely whilst following our usual processes and controls via a secure manner.

Client Meetings

Face-to-face meetings with clients are temporarily not encouraged following government advice on social distancing. However, we have excellent facilities available for both telephone and video conferencing which will promote efficiency in moving work forward.

Resource Allocation

Our cross team working practices enable us to use our resources to support each other when necessary. In the event that resourcing levels are compromised due to illness or inability to work, we will consider how resources are used to their best advantage. APC will inform clients should such a situation arise and make every effort to mitigate the impact for our clients in this situation

We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops, and will take the appropriate action as necessary. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this time. Should you have any queries whatsoever, please speak with your key contact(s) at APC as soon as possible.

Thank you.

That's great pre-empt. By the way don't u think that Actuaries have to consider factoring assumptions on epidemics and pandemics? And not just focusing on discount rates, ROI, mortality etc...which are all sensitive to the impact. Your views. Thanks
