BUSINESS IS COMPETITION! OR IS IT NOT?
Do you agree that business is all about out competing your competitors or every one has their own unique market and 'the water you'll drink no go pass you' or 'the sky is truly big enough for everyone'? So no sweat?
Guys what's your take?
Here's what I have learnt.
Except your product is 100x better & cheaper, then your real competition is against habits & belief system, which is tougher to break.
Comfort, familiarity & emotional attachment are stronger forces than new, better, and different.
Changing those habits & mindsets or associating your solutions to them will be key to gaining a competitive edge for your product or service.
Companies that solely focus on competition will die. Those that focus on value creation will thrive.” – Edward de Bono
People reflexively assume that competition is always a good thing, that it always brings out the best in people, but that's only true of people who can forget the competition and focus on self and deliver superior value.
Interestingly if you have zero competition (watch your back), you are either in an unprofitable or unscalable business; you are ahead of your time; or the competition is coming very soon!
The question then becomes how would you immerse yourself into people's habits and belief system through the value you create to remain sustainable over the long haul.
Candidates and their campaign organizations leverage my pragmatic yet aspirational messaging to connect with Gen Zs and 1st-time voters.
