Business and Company Updates across IVL!

Business and Company Updates across IVL!

With the second phase of lockdown coming to an end and the third phase on the way, I could sense a lot of uncertainty and apprehension among the teams, making it vital for maintaining constant communication with the employees and apprise them of the happenings within the organization.

We have heard and read of some unfortunate trend of layoffs, cut downs, salary cuts here and there, in the last month. We too had to face some effects of the slowdown in the global markets with the cutdowns in the existing projects and fortunately, we are able to absorb these team members in other ongoing projects. We are fortunate to have seen an upward growth in our workforce. I am happy to say, our recruitment, HR, IT, and admin teams successfully onboarded 52 new employees

Another highlight of the month was the addition of new projects in the healthcare domain and Machine Learning.

With Annual Appraisals well underway, owing to various global and local factors, we are holding off the increments process, till we re-open. While there were concerns raised with this decision, it was good to see many employees understanding the situation and supporting this decision.

The ongoing COVID_19 situation has created a lot of uncertainty about the future and questioned the pace of business growth. Our efforts in the coming months would be to identify new geographies, domains, and technologies that would make the business sustainable. At present, the foremost goal is to ensure how to keep everyone employed.

With the second phase of the lockdown almost coming to an end, we have a plan for enabling our staff to come back to the office. On-premise checks, an in-depth sanitization of the office premise, social distancing in seating arrangements, and welcoming employees in phases are some of our key steps. Through our action plan is ready, we are still not sure about the cross-border travel and the actual date when the lockdown will be fully lifted. The best way to get through these times is - stick to a routine, get tasks done, and take regular breaks.

In the end, I tried to answer the questions and concerns, employees had, with regards to the appraisals, increments, future job security, tackling long working hours, slow systems, and some other operational functions. These broadcasts and interactions with all employees have been extremely insightful for me and help clear the doubts of employees, first-hand.

My message to the team is  - keep the communication open within your teams and with your managers. Follow the Guidelines. Understand the changing business scenarios. Take breaks. Your work from home should be no different from work from the office. Use the travel time saved, to learn new skills. Don’t give in to any rumors. If you still have any unresolved issues or concerns, I am just a call away.

Stay Safe, Stay Home, Stay Connected.
