Business to Community - Supporting Your Local Helpers

The Holiday season allows us to take a step back and remind ourselves about the importance of giving back. During the years we have always made it a goal to support our community and help where and when we can.

As a refrigerated LTL (less than truckload) delivery company, Minuteman Transport helps feed the families of the Pacific Southwest (CA, NV, AZ) throughout the year.?

We have been in the food transport business since 1985, delivering temperature-controlled LTL service for businesses that need to transport their perishable goods.?

Occasionally, we end up with short code products or slightly damaged cases. The food is still good quality and we like to donate these items to a local food pantry.

Foothill Unity Center in Monrovia, CA, (https://foothillunitycenter.org/), is one of the non-profits we support. In addition to being a local food pantry, they also offer the community help with Health Care, Crisis Management, Housing and Homelessness, as well as Job Development.

They have a lot on their plate to offer the community. Their values of supporting others reflects ours. A concern that I have is that the need for food is so great and I see so much food that is tossed; I wish we could do more.

We donate to Foothill Unity Center all year long, and purchased a refrigerated storage unit for them, so that they can store cold foods at their facility.

Donating food and providing proper storage for the food pantry has helped feed those in need in our community.

Unfortunately, food insecurity remains a significant challenge in the United States. According to?Feeding America, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, are food insecure.?
