A business case for Employee Communication Tool

A business case for Employee Communication Tool

Introduction

In the current situation where employee engagement or employee experience is at the forefront, the great number of organizations are lacking communication tools.

The remote or hybrid work culture also means that employee communication has to be top notch.

There could be variety of reasons you need to send communications to the employees. ?

Why this is important than ever?

Employees are looking for purpose, belonging and connection at their workplace. If organizations do not take steps to communicate via more meaningful methods the employee engagement, then falls and eventually employee turnover starts to happen.

A use case for a better communication tool

There are lot of organizations these days who are doing one-off compensation planning, mid-year salary planning, Thank you bonuses, Special Bonuses, COVID relief incentives and so much more.

The organizations are either using non automated tools like spreadsheets or their exiting vendors to do some or all of this planning.

What they lack is the holistic, secure and seamless communication methods.

Imagine if you have a tool that you can integrate with no matter what program you are using to seamlessly communicate the results, compensation or related program (actually even more than that) decisions to employees.

Example: You push the communication to the employee for thank you bonus with CEO message or even highlighting individual accomplishments. ?

Result: Increased Employee Engagement!

You can even use the communication tool to convey non-monetary awards like spot award. They can then brag about that on the social media via share button.

Taking it a step further

To take a step further you can integrate with mobile apps and use other creative methods based on employee usage of devices, programs/ apps.

Summary

I see a gap in the employee communication tools which can securely, seamlessly deliver employee specific communications and in turn drive up the employee engagement / experience.

In this article I took examples related to compensation or related programs but this can be extended to many other communications within the organization.

For example you want to communicate to employee a change in the employment (Hourly to Full Time).

Food for Thought

  1. What do you think? Do you have proper tools at your workplace for effective communication?
  2. Do you often get notified other than email?
  3. What all notifications or communications you would like to see automated?
  4. Do you have a self-service portal where you can log-in and check all communications?
  5. Can you download PDF to save major announcements or in certain cases share on social media to brag about?

Absolutely agree, Sanjeev Singla. Communication is the main asset that sustains organization. We are trying to build engagement through a communication cyber security tool. It is a hybrid approach that leads to enhanced organizational culture. Please, check MonkPhish if interested.

Sanjeev Singla , I think oganizations also need to bring peraonaliztion aspet in the communication to better engage employees. There are may activities and initiatives in an organization which could be overwhelming. The meaning of success for an employee could be diferent from others. A tool to provide personalized communications and recommendaions is very helpful in this hybrid working model.
