Car security warning issued over fake Faraday pouches

Drivers should beware of fake Faraday pouches which do not provide the advertised protection against keyless vehicle theft, according to Tracker.

The vehicle tracking company said tests on available pouches – designed to prevent electronic signals from keyless fobs being amplified and exploited by thieves – had revealed significant differences in their effectiveness.

Most used car buyers want EV battery data, survey finds

Having an independent, certified assessment of how well previous owners have looked after an EV’s battery is seen as important by 87% of used car buyers, according to research by Startline Motor Finance.

It found that 82% of those surveyed would want to know how long the battery would take to fully charge, 82% would want verification of the amount of battery capacity that lost since new, 81% would want to know how much capacity it was likely to lose in the future, and 79% would like an indication of how much charge the battery currently held.

Cox Automotive predicts used car market growth slowdown, but sales up overall

Used car market growth seen in the first half of 2024 is unlikely to continue during the rest of the year, according to Cox Automotive.

The data company said its latest market forecast was showing a slight slowdown in Q3 and Q4 compared with its previous prediction, as multiple factors combine to temper wholesale supply and consumer demand.

Fleet drivers need safety system calibration understanding, ATS Euromaster says


Fleet drivers must understand the importance of correct calibration for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), according to ATS Euromaster.

The SMR firm said drivers needed to know that systems such as adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist needed correct calibration to ensure they worked properly after incident damage.
