Falling used car values show return to seasonal trends, Cap HPI says

The average value of used cars at the three-year/60,000 mile point has fallen by 1.5% during April, according to cap hpi. The data firm said this fall followed an overall rise in values of 0.5% over the first quarter of the year and reflected a gentle softening in demand and an increase in supply.

Cap HPI director of valuations Derren Martin said: “The market feels healthy, but a number of retailers have expressed that demand is slightly below where they had hoped and budgeted for, after a robust first quarter."

New UK fleet boss for Seat and Cupra

Martin Gray has been appointed as national fleet manager for Seat and Cupra UK. Gray has been in the automotive industry for 30 years, with 18 years of fleet experience, and has been with Volkswagen Group UK since 2011, most recently as contract hire and leasing manager for Seat and Cupra.

He said: "I am delighted to be leading a fleet team that has already accomplished so much. My priority is to continue achieving successful results for Seat, as well as grow awareness of the Cupra brand."

Entries for the Business Car Awards 2024 opened last month, and will continue to be accepted until 5 July, with the awards then being handed out, following judging by panels of independent experts, at a ceremony at the Hilton London Bankside, on Thursday 19 September.

Fleet home charging system launched by Mobilize Power Solutions

A new system to help fleets manage employees’ home EV charging is being launched by Mobilize Power Solutions.

Fleet@Home, which is being added to the Mobilize Manager software platform, is designed to allow drivers to directly expense business miles via their home EV charger.

Mobilize Power Solutions managing director Mark Dickens said the system would make charging payments fairer for drivers and easier to manage for fleet operators.

Epyx announces new appointment

Epyx has appointed Danielle Webb as key account manager. She will be responsible for handling relationships with the company’s major clients, working on areas including strategic planning, communication and collaboration, performance analysis, and account growth and retention.

Webb said: “Epyx as a reputation for great account management and I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the major fleets with which I’ll be working, helping them to use our technology to meet their business objectives."
