Skills Development Funds
The Basingstoke and Deane Apprenticeship Business Fund aims to support any micro business or SME to access talent through apprenticeships. Eligible businesses can apply for grants of £5,000 per apprentice to support with the costs of recruiting and retaining a new apprentice. The Basingstoke and Deane Workforce Development Grant Scheme provides funding to local micro businesses and small to medium sized enterprises to invest in their workforce, equipping employees with new skills and knowledge to support business growth and organisational resilience as well as supporting the professional development of employees. SEEDL
Throughout June, SEEDL are offering a number of courses focused on diversity and inclusion to celebrate Pride Month. These courses can be accessed by all Basingstoke and Deane businesses and employees.?
Embracing a variety of perspectives and backgrounds can lead to a more engaged workforce, a stronger brand reputation and a competitive edge in the marketplace. A diverse and inclusive?workplace makes everyone involved in and supported in all areas of business.

Inclusion EB8

Inclusion EB8 is a new supportive employability hub offering the next steps into the workplace for young people over 18 with mental health conditions, neurodivergence or additional learning needs.
The site will offer employability skills, supported work experience placements and in-house work experience all designed to help young people get work ready and find employment. EB8 will also offer the support and expertise of job coaches and mental health support workers to encourage engagement and help prepare for the journey into work.

Basingstoke Festival
Starting on Friday 21 June and spanning three weekends?until Sunday 7 July, this year’s Basingstoke Festival celebrates everything that makes our borough special. Experience an array of street theatre, outdoor arts, circus, dance and music. Residents and visitors of all ages will be able to find acts that appeal to them.
The festival is delighted to be working in partnership with Village Hotels , Basingstoke and the Festival Hub is also returning in partnership with Festival Place Basingstoke .
