Projects have a great role in the success or failure of any organization. Sometimes a Project is a hope for big profit but other times, it can only be a matter of survival for the organization.
While the successful completion of the project is a core priority of any project management team but the selection of the right project is even more critical. This is where the role of Business Analyst or Requirement Analyst comes in.
A business Analyst is a person who is responsible to analyze different available options and select the top most project which gives value to the customer/organization in a short period of time as well as gives a competitive advantage over other competitors in the market.
In some organizations, the role of Business analyst and project manager is played by the same person. But In bigger companies, the roles are played by different persons and the business analyst becomes the part of project team once the project is selected and started. A business analyst reports to the project manager and makes sure the project is still worth completing.

Before answering to this question, it is very important to understand the definition of project failure.
While most people think that late projects, overflow of budget, or not meeting the scope baseline are the main factors to judge if a project is a failure or a success.If you also think so then you need to know that sometimes a project completed on time, as per budget and scope is still a failure.Because it did not deliver the intended benefits to the organization.
