Business: Adding Another Dimension.
It's not about absorbing Autistic employees into a business or workforce, but how leadership can fashion an all-embracing environment that encourages and nurtures diversity.
It cannot be embedded overnight, but it is imperative that it is an evolving process - the appointing of an emissary who understands, embraces and drives change.
It requires a demonstrable commitment.
Indifference or a refractory attitude is tantamount to Able-ism (discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities).
Do you have a go-to-expert in your business to consider both your workforce and customer base?
Unfortunately, most, if not all, will choose to ignore this issue in the deluded comfort that there is nothing they can do about it, drawing on the comfort it will never affect them.
Instead, take the time to ask if you are relevant and if what you do adds value to the world, your country, its people, the business and family.
If not, then summon the courage to do what is right for the good of the greater cause and perhaps the opportunity of leaving a meaningful legacy.
Have the courage to take the first step.
