2023, a new year always holds the promise of new and wonderful things for us. We experience that sense in all parts of our lives, from people to money. There is something about a new year that makes anything and everything great and possible again.

This year 2023 is incredibly special to me because it marks the start of my second business – Growth-Accountant, an accounting and tax practice with business growth optimizing services. A business that leverages all the skills and training I have accumulated over the years – accounting and coaching.

?

Growth-Accountant was born out of a combination of:

????????Being over 60: I found that many people believe that you retire when you are over 60, reinforced by the corporate retirement date.

Given the predictions of extended life spans of well up to 80, that doesn’t make sense.

Retiring and doing “nothing” has never been an option for me, I knit too badly for that, and watching that much of Netflix will never satisfy especially with programmes like Megxit.

????????Work on the business, not in the business: A need to deliver less myself and more through others that are 10x better than me. It became a possibly last year when I worked with an amazing leadership coach - Marichen.

????????The complete and happy acceptance of the virtual workplace by all, one of the gifts of Covid: I suddenly realized that the places I loved to go to on breaks could now be places to work from. Even a nomadic lifestyle is within reach. ?I can test my favorite places and then decide what location suits bets.

?

I am continuing with CoachingtoThrive, with a panel of people 10X better than me consisting of a leadership coach, an assessments-expert, and a neuro coach.

The last quarter of 2022 was the set-up Growth-Accountant, and I finished the website just pre the 23 December. Just in time to sign my first Entrepreneur on the 24 December – what a wonderful Xmas gift from above.

?

Going back to my accounting roots was a huge journey in itself. I must commend SAICA, RAU, UNISA and Deloitte for the great training I had. In returning to my roots, I found the old accountant returning without hesitation with a good recall of all the basic principles and accounting babble. Solid learning and training reside in the permanent brain memory – what a relief and joy.

I offer a once-off Referral Fee of R 3, 600 for every Entrepreneur successfully introduced (T&C’s apply, see below).

I pay R 3,600 for each new Entrepreneur that signs for 12-months and have paid timeously for 1st 3-months.
