BUSH (JUNGLE) TRUCKS

We spend a great deal of time in the jungle so, we need tough people and tough vehicles. We normally use the Ford Ranger Diesel (and yes, there is a diesel), the Land Rover, and the restructured Kia Bongo. In the past few years, the newer vehicles have become so technically challenging for our mechanics that I now rebuild my own and sometimes starting from nothing, but a frame or scrap parts. We can even fabricate our own parts. This is a lot harder than it sounds. As a miner you have to be able to build bridges, housing, build roads, and automobiles. This particular Land Rover we were lucky it had a few original parts; as we stripped it down and start from the naked frame. We often alter the frame strength and increase suspension for heavy duty tow and more weight. We change the fuel tank size as we can often drive inside the jungle/desert for 6 to 15 hours per day. We alter the injectors, fuel pump, and seals to receive dirty fuel. By the time we finish these truck would run on gas, diesel, or pee. (Ok not pee but you get my point.) We can even go where there is no road or bridge. We have gone places where the people have never seen an automobile. I've been considering my own manufacturing of a bush vehicle. When it comes to Toyota, Ford, Mercedes, Land Rover, and Nissan we know what they can do and what they can’t. If you ask me as the bush miner which one I prefer, then...
