Burp Suite with Firefox: A Simple Solution

Burp Suite with Firefox: A Simple Solution

Introduction

I recently practiced Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges on CTFlearn, using Burp Suite to test website security. However, I faced a major hurdle with Burp Suite, which kept opening a new Chromium browser instead of my regular Chrome. This setup was slow and frustrating, and I struggled to get it working smoothly.

Chrome Browser Challenge

Configuring Burp Suite with Chrome proved difficult. The browser would glitch, causing issues with capturing traffic. It turns out that Chrome, being not open source, doesn’t integrate as well with Burp Suite.

Firefox Fix

A tip from a fellow enthusiast led me to try Firefox, an open-source browser. Switching to Firefox made everything easier. The setup was smooth, with no glitches, and it worked seamlessly with Burp Suite.

Why Firefox Works Better

-> Open Source: Firefox’s flexibility makes it a better match for Burp Suite.

-> Easy Integration: Configuring Firefox with Burp Suite is straightforward and trouble-free.

Conclusion

If you’re using Burp Suite, consider Firefox for a smoother, more efficient experience. It saved me time and frustration, and I’m now learning web security with fewer obstacles.

Note: Better to use any open-source browser
