The Burnout Villain

Are you feeling refreshed and ready to take the rest of 2024 by storm?
Or are you running on autopilot?
If burnout is knocking at your door, you’re certainly not alone.
We often see burnout as a villain in our stories — something to fear, something to fight, something we must conquer before we can reach our happy ending.
But what if it’s not?
What if it’s not a villain, but a question?
A question that asks: Do you want to keep doing what you’ve been doing?
What if it’s not an enemy, but a sign?
A sign that something needs to change—a whisper from within urging you to reconsider your path, not just for yourself, but for your loved ones as well.
I know what it’s like to feel trapped in the quicksand of burnout.
That exhaustion that sleep can’t cure, the guilt of feeling weak, and the urge to work harder to ‘fix’ it—only to find that, regardless of the effort, it seems to get worse.
As Eep from The Croods said, “That wasn’t living! That was just not dying!”
For me, it lasted for years until I finally recognised the sign that read, “Danger ahead. You don’t have to stay on this road. You have a choice.”
And so do you.
It’s an unfamiliar and often really scary realisation, yet absolutely worth exploring.
Also, you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
Send me a message if you don't know where to start.
To recognising turning points,
Sumarie
