Hi Friend,
Ever felt like you're sick and tired of your job?
Like, it's sucking the life out of you.
Like, you can't bear the thought of working another day?
Your family sees it, your coworkers too – they know you're not feeling it.
And honestly, neither are you. You're itching to bail, now!
I was there, trust me. More times than I can count. But the fear of change is real. It's like this powerful voice in your head, saying don’t quit, you'll mess up.?
I soon realized that the fear of change was the same as feeling miserable day in and day. So, I said screw it, and I made the switch.
It wasn't easy. Far from it. But facing that fear, staring it down, that's where your growth happened.
When I made the shift it was like going from misery to pleasure. It was one of the best decisions of my career.
Listen, I want to share my story, to help you out. I want you to feel that rush, that pleasure of taking charge of your life.
So, if you're stuck in that miserable job, scared to make a move, know this – you got this.
You can make that change, find your happiness, and carve out a path that's all yours.
Let’s delve into how to make your career shift pleasurable.
Self-assessment?
Start by asking yourself, why do I want to make a change? By answering this question you can clearly define what you do not like about your job.
Is your unhappiness related to an unrealistic workload?
Is it a dead end job?
Are the physical demands too much? Is it a management issue?
Do you no longer feel challenged?
You may have a number of reasons for wanting a change. Your assessment will reveal what you should look for in your next job.?
Can you afford it?
Consider the impact a career shift could have on your income. The money will play a big role in your decision. Can you afford a pay cut?
Is the pay cut for a short term? Review the full benefit package. Your package could make up some of the difference in pay.
Will you have to relocate to another city, state or country? How will this affect the people that you support?
Some people take large pay cuts and are completely happy. They value their well being more than money.
While considering a career shift, weigh your financial needs.
Are you willing to invest in yourself?
Assess your skills. Do your current skills match up with what you'll need in your new job? If so, you're already halfway there.
Going back to school could totally change your plans in shifting careers. Yeah, it costs money, but it's usually a wise investment.
Consider available options to manage the cost of returning to school.
Imagine yourself in your dream job. Feeling fulfilled, making a real difference. That's what could be waiting for you on the other side of this investment.
But believe me, betting on yourself is never a bad move – it's like paving your own path to a brighter future.
Connect with professionals in your desired industry
Talking with folks already in your target industry is a game-changer. It's like getting a sneak peek behind the scenes during your career exploration phase.
Set clear goals for yourself, like identifying the top companies to aim for. The more insights you gather, the sharper your focus becomes. Dive in and absorb all you can.
Plus, consider the growth potential in the career field you're eyeing. It's definitely worth checking out.?
In the end, you have the power to make a change, to carve out a path that's fulfilling and truly yours.
With these steps as a roadmap, you can approach your career shift with confidence and excitement. Remember,? you have the power to design a career that fuels your happiness.
Release your full potential. Don't wait another day feeling stuck.? Start your self-assessment today,? and? get ready to? build a fulfilling future, one step at a time.
I've walked that path myself and faced that fear of change head-on. I emerged on the other side happier and more fulfilled than ever before.
And let me tell you, it was worth every damn ounce of courage it took.
