Burn Out or Burn it Off?!

If you are one of the few people that doesn’t have to worry about burn-out, whether in a day, personal or family, in the short term or long term…you are doing something really special. The rest of us have to work at ensuring this burnout, however we define it for ourselves, doesn’t happen, set in or if it does…stick around. So, what are you doing to keep that feeling away?

If you are interested, here are 15 things to consider if you want to keep burn-out away or what to do if it happens to get over it.

Taking care of ourselves is work. Then, maybe we have to take care of others in some form or another. We talk about putting on our own oxygen mask first, so we are better for everyone. Here are some things to consider to help or help get us back on track:

  1. Set achievable goals and break them down into manageable tasks.
  2. Practice time and energy management: Prioritize tasks, use to-do lists, and schedule breaks to manage your time effectively. How do you recharge your battery?
  3. Set boundaries: Learn to say no in a way that maintains relationships
  4. Practice stress management techniques: Find healthy outlets for stress, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or journaling.
  5. Take regular breaks: Incorporate short breaks throughout your day to rest and recharge.
  6. Maintain a healthy work-life balance: Dedicate time to activities outside of work that bring you joy and relaxation.
  7. Seek social support: Connect with friends, family, or support groups to share your experiences and seek guidance.
  8. Maintain a healthy diet and prioritize sleep and exercise.
  9. Unplug from technology: Take regular breaks from screens and digital devices to reduce mental clutter and promote relaxation.
  10. Find activities that make you happy and make time for them regularly.
  11. Practice self-compassion
  12. Regularly evaluate and adjust your workload: Assess your commitments and responsibilities and make alterations when needed.
  13. Take vacations and time off: Plan and take regular breaks from work to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate.
  14. Engage in activities that bring you joy and help you disconnect from work-related stress.
  15. Delegate and ask for help when needed: Don't be afraid to seek support from others and delegate tasks when possible.

New to you or just a redo? Sometimes better to be reminded then to be told. We all have some area that we can work on and this list may help as you do the gap analysis in pursuit of balance.

Wishing you all the best, rest, and much love!
