Bullshit Jobs and their Organisations

The industry worldwide has been evolving in the last century so dramatically that few organizations remained able to focus on the matter of producing quality jobs. It’s quite usual to see large hierarchal diagrams with repetitive and clueless job descriptions. It’s easy to find if you are doing Bullshit job. You just need to ask yourself would it be a matter of concern for your organization if you don’t visit your work a month. Would it change anything in the organization you are working? If the answer is no then certainly you are doing it. This unnoticed reality can happen from CEO level to guard at the gate of a company. Though few people wrote or talked about it. Remind you Bullshit job does not stand for shitty job which is often underpaid.

Fear of facing reality and unknown consequences is the major cause that restricts professionals and organizations to talk radically on this matter. I have worked in companies where I noticed people make very nice reports and presentations which flow inside organizations from one department to other. As soon as you critically analyze such efforts then you will come to know that the whole activity does not help much in the overall progression of organizations.?

If we ask professional that how much hours you work actually then the first answer is we work very hard and over 8 hours per day. Interestingly if you dig down politly with the person then you get the answers like "actually the work is not more than 2 hours a day but I stretch to 8 hours a day". So why its so important to follow "Look busy and do nothing approach"? Especially in hardcore capitalism this should not be the case. This is more like socialism rather than capitalism. Interestingly this practice is dominantly visible in private sector where major workforce of any country deployed.?

There are lots of meaningless jobs out there but the companies might be overlooking it because they probably understand that the technology ease many things. Jobs are more leisure now for Bullshit job doers than ever before. For instance, many organizations have people to organize, print and delivery paper work inside the same office. Such jobs are not really necessary. Similarly in banks and corporate sector many employees have to make some presentations from the data they have got from peers. They cross check their work with supervisors and present it to another senior or department. The whole practice includes lots of repetition which makes these positions redundant.

The overall efficiency is reduced of organizations due to Bullshit jobs. The organizations which can increase their revenues, introduce more revolutionized products and increase overall profits by introducing more quality jobs and merging Bullshit ones. The bigger the organization the bigger this task would be. They generally like to have much more complex meaningless hierarchies with elaborated titles and corporate jargons.

Have you ever noticed that many time in organizations, the top positions remain vacant for a long time without being noticed. One the other hand if the sweepers strike just for two day, the companies would need to have them back immediately.

There is no easy solution for this situation as it’s the only situation where the capitalism does not behave to its core values.?
