Bullivants’ Hoisting Solutions

Manual hoists are ideal for tight spaces and light duty applications with a typical lifting capacity of up to 30 tonnes. Being cost effective and easy to maintain, the real benefit is that no electricity is required making them portable for any site. The Bullivants hoisting range provides options to select the right hoist that is suitable for your industries including mining in open-pit and underground, construction, rural and industrial applications.

To choose the right hoist for your application from Bullivants’ large range of manual hoists, you should consider the following:

·??????Rated load capacity

·??????Load weight

·??????Shape of load

·??????Height of lift

·??????Minimum headroom required

·??????Frequency of use

·??????Environment

·??????Is the unit hook suspended or will it require a trolley?

When choosing a manual hoist the minimum load to be lifted is just as important as the maximum load being lifted. Also known as light load rating, the brake engagement force is the minimum force expressed as a percentage that will engage the braking system to prevent a load from dropping.

Bullivants ranges two key types of manual hoists: chain blocks and lever blocks.

For vertical lifting applications chain blocks can be operated from the ground even when the hoist is positioned up high. They also allow very fine adjustment for precision raising, lowering, or positioning applications. Although chain blocks are primarily for vertical lifting, the Tiger by Bullivants premium range features a limited angled use of up to 45? from vertical without deration of the working load limit.

Lever blocks are compact and lightweight, they are ideal for horizontal, angled, and low vertical loads. With the lever handle located next to the hoist suspension point, they are mostly used for horizontal pulling and hoisting operations where the operator is located close to the load.

The Bullivants and Tiger by Bullivants hoisting ranges of Overload Protection chain and lever blocks feature the Overload Limiter mechanism to prevent further lifting of the load when the load limit is exceeded. This feature is designed to prevent damage to the hoist and ensuring the safety of the operator. The overload feature functions by allowing the hand wheel (chain block) or handle (lever block) to rotate without engaging the gear box, preventing further lifting of the load while safe lowering of the load is still possible.

To accompany the large range of hoists there are a wide variety of Bullivants branded ancillary products. Whether you need a push or geared trolley, girder clamp, lifting clamp, magnet lifter or brake winch, Bullivants can supply solutions for your lift. Within this range there are a variety of lifting clamps to cover almost all lifting and handling applications.

When quality and safety matters, Bullivants is a market leader in Lifting and Rigging.?
