Bulletins are Better

A Word About Local Advertising:

The primary goal of advertising is to reach people most likely to pay for a business’s products or services, and be seen regularly enough to be top of mind.

This generation has seen many changes to local commerce, possibly none more so than methods of advertising.??Over a decade ago there were only a few options for local businesses, big or small, to communicate with prospective customers. Mostly that was done through monochromatic print ads that often blended into editorial content or broke up an alphabetical listing in a 1000+ page phone book.??Print is the most effective means to reach people. They spend more time with eyes on the page and studies show that the information is retained more often and for longer (compared to video ads). But who is printing these days? Newspapers subscriptions switched to mostly online versions supported by digital ads, phone books are obsolete and many glossy magazines are becoming extinct and people often don’t even check a postal mailbox daily.

Online advertising can cost thousands per month for small businesses. The rates seem like a bargain when first presented, but quickly escalates, thoroughly depleting a small business’s entire marketing budget. With no guarantee of actual return on investment, owners of shops, restaurants and professional practices including dentist, doctors, lawyers, etc., are turning back to tried and trusted?church bulletin advertising.

Church bulletin advertising is the sweet spot for many who what to brand the business, offer promotions to local consumers, or look for new employees. Today’s church bulletin is not what it used to be! Bulletins offer targeted advertising in a range of advertising sizes, in pinpoint geographic locations and come with a digital presence and an interactive app available to anyone and everyone. Ad spaces can include QR codes, photos, social media handles and all digital versions (as well as the app) hyperlink to a business website.?

Generally, advertisers use bulletins to market a business throughout the year. Being seen 52 weeks, with the ability to change the ad four times a year makes it an effective and efficient media buy. John Patrick Publishing prints over 600 bulletins, from small towns to big cities. Some are simple tri-fold publications, but increasingly the number of pages and information within is expanding. Many are larger bulletins, 10-18 pages each week, being read by thousands of folks in a given area, often emailed to more people and always available online.??
