'Perhaps, We are built different' inferred my mind after a small self-talk while sitting in the cab, commuting to work.
Built different in the way how one attains success, how one needs to work, ones strengths and weaknesses, all of it collectively.
After my 12th Class, I never thought I would ever come around to giving a competitive exam, but alas! the ways that life unfolds for you are unique and sometimes set for you to step a foot out of your comfort zone and even your belief system.
These things are standardised for a reason, they put you in the same bowl and test your skills. Now, some people might need a month to crack it, others might need 6-7 months or more. It is a daunting, lonely, and sometimes and for some a feared territory to step into. I am glad I am on it. :)
Now that I am part of this big mass, I got an inside lens to how the world of 'rat-racing' actually is. It is not because of the exam or the score but how you're built. And it's not a race, even the competitive exams, if you're inclined towards doing them, is a marathon. You need to built rigour and stamina to get through one.
For how you are built is going to determine how you adapt to the situation. And believe me when I say - You need rigour, not stress. Now, for this marathon some may prepare for a year or a month, according to the pre-work they've already done.
If someone goes to the gym each day, the marathon is just an addition - so maybe an extra 15 mins on the treadmill or an extra 50 jumping jacks. But for someone who used to eat junk and not move - it is a whole journey.
Though it might be the duty of interviewers to judge us on the basis our performance, we can life this weight from our shoulders by accepting that we're built different.
In the way that you need to see -
Suppose you were to run a marathon - how is it different from your lifestyle today?

Are you taking a walk everyday?
Do you eat enough protein?
Do you eat green veggies on the plate?
Do you play outdoor games?
Do you go to the gym?
If you wish to run it and start comparing to someone who has unintentionally been practicing for it all along or is better suited to be in such situations- you might want to run it or fall off the wagon quickly.
Just see - where your strengths lie today, keep adding to them and working on your weaknesses. That's how you'll be able to recognise - how different you're built and double down on it.
With Hope,
Ayushi :)
