KEY FEATURES

About us

No expense has been spared in providing an oasis of relaxation and pampered comfort with all of the modern conveniences discriminating travellers expect. High count linens on premium mattresses, spacious new bathrooms, luxurious robes, Sony LCD TVs and Blu-ray DVD players, and Wi-Fi are just a few of the amenities that our guest suites feature.

With five king-sized suites, one queen room with a private bath across the hall (with optional second bedroom), library, billiards room, piano parlour, conference room, screened gazebo, and expansive grounds... the Riverside Inn B & B gives you plenty of room to find your private hideaway or to host your group retreat.

Local attractions such as the Kentucky Speedway, Belterra Casino, and the Elk Creek and Ridge Wineries are just a few examples of why our B & B is just moments away from all that our region has to offer. Experience bed and breakfast beyond your expectations!

Our Inn typically is open for guest stays Thursday thru Monday, with some other days scattered throughout the calendar. Individual reservations are taken up to three months in advance.

We do have availability for groups interested in day rentals of the Conference Centre, or whole house rentals of guest rooms, during the week that should be booked directly with the Innkeeper by phone. Whole house weekend rentals are recommended to be made at least three months in advance of the reservation book opening to individual bookings. We allow rentals of our gazebo for showers or other small gatherings during weekdays or Sunday afternoons, but only when the Inn does not have overnight guests.

We are excited to show you the many reasons that our Inn was awarded a Top 10 Most Romantic Inns in the WORLD by BedandBreakfast.com! Located directly on the Ohio River in Warsaw, Kentucky, our Inn will set the standard by which you measure all other B & Bs. No expense was spared in the restoration and expansion of the existing mansion and its grounds. Our Inn is over 13,000 sq. ft. of casual elegance, featuring 7 guest rooms and beautiful public areas both inside and outside for guest enjoyment and privacy.

Our guests spend hours enjoying the gazebo and swings overlooking the Ohio River, watching the paddle boats and barges pass by as they take the time to reconnect with each other and just unwind. Other favourite activities are enjoying a relaxing massage in our spa room, playing the piano, challenging your significant other to a game of pool, or obsessing over working on puzzles!

History

The original house was built in 1869 by Local Businessman and Militia Captain, Senator James H. McDanell, Sr. He lived with his wife, Irene, and their two sons and daughter. His farm was one of the finest in the state. He was a careful, diligent, and conservative man, three features that assisted materially in making his fortune. He soon built up a good trade that grew year after year until his establishment, J.A. McDanell and Sons Mercantile, became the most important business in the town of Warsaw.

Captain McDannell's home partially burnt in 1889, but he had it rebuilt, and it became known as Lynwood Hall. Originally were two identical entrances – one facing the Ohio River (which remains the same today, and the other facing US Highway 42). Lynwood Hall remained in the McDanell family for over three generations.

Our Journey So Far

In 1950, William H. Hill, a nurseryman, bought the property and ran a large tree nursery; the beauty of some of his trees still grace the property, such as the 5 types of Magnolia trees, Bradford pears, multi-coloured Dogwoods, and stunning American Holly trees. You will find large Oak trees, American Lindens, Tulip trees, and Weeping Cherry trees, to name a few.

Mr. Hill changed the front facade of the house by adding the brick columns that are still standing today. Mr. Hill's daughter, Marie Hill Roberts, and her husband Harry, along with their son and three daughters, inherited the house where Marie lived until 2005. In 2010, the current owners purchased the property, then known as Heritage Hall.

The current owners lovingly took ownership and after a year of extensive restoration and renovation ~ where the beauty of the old was merged with the convenience of the new ~ the house proudly opened in May 2011 as one of Kentucky's most romantic inns.

Calm Your Mind And Attain Harmony During Your Stay

What better way to pamper yourself during your stay than to indulge in a massage? Our visiting licensed massage therapists will perform these treatments in our Spa Room's privacy located in the West Wing. Due to the popularity of these services, we recommend making your appointment at the time of your reservation. Prices may increase if our regular therapist is not available for the date you are visiting.

Hot Stone Massage

The application of water-heated basalt stones to key points on the body gives a deep massage and creates sensations of comfort and warmth. The penetrating heat from the hot stones relaxes the muscles, allowing for deeper relaxation compared with Therapeutic massage therapy.

Therapeutic Massage

This specialty massage includes slower strokes and medium pressure to relieve stress, tension with the focus being on relaxation.

Pre-Natal Massage

This massage is specially designed for the expectant mother. By ordering this massage, our therapist will be prepared to make accommodations to make the guest more comfortable during her massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

A deep tissue massage is recommended when you have specific areas of pain that requires much deeper muscle work than a traditional, relaxing massage. Recommended for those that have chronic pain, sports injury, those that simply prefer a very firm massage, or if needed to help restore mobility.
