Building Yourself

Building Yourself

I have noticed one factor inside job hunting to be one important key to your success.

Building yourself

Recruiters see many applications a day. Many candidates who apply to a job position have the experience and the abilities to do so, and this is why it is a process that takes time. The diversity and possibilities of a candidate's experiences are endless. That is one of the many advantages of Recruitment, you have the opportunity to see many talents.

Besides determination, consistency, and working on yourself inside job hunting, you are introducing yourself to a whole new world in which they do not know you 100%. You expose yourself through a CV and that's it. Most of the Recruiters meet their candidates until they are working inside the company. Some don't even get to meet. I believe not everything can be seen in a candidate's CV. In the end, it is literally just a resume on the candidate experience's, not on how the person is. So how do you build your profile as a candidate?

Here is how I learned to build my profile as a candidate:

  1. Start projects even though you don't have a concrete offer yet - The aspirations and projects you wish to make, don't need to start until you get the offer. You start it before. Why? Because a job offer doesn't need to be your starting point to believe in your potential. If you believe you know about the area, start your project.
  2. Keep your personal trait's and values to yourself - Don't write everything in your CV. Your values and traits as a candidate need to be shown, not written.
  3. Choose well in what you work - Many candidates get into many projects as they can to incorporate them into their CV. This is the belief you need to have many projects to be successful and to be accepted. It is better to invest your effort in one project, rather than spend your time in projects you will not give the best effort.

Being able to work on what you feel passionate about is a huge step towards your professional career and profile. Even if you don't get the offer, you are still working on producing something which help's you improve.

At the end, this will also be useful when you receive your final job offer. As you will be able to offer something new to the company.

It will make you stand out as a candidate.
